Same. And I did a little dive into some govs before I ever posted this (it sat as a draft for sometime as I mulled the idea over), trying to gauge how many govs would need to support it, etc – before it received as warm of a welcome here from those commenting. In the meantime I bought up tiny, farmed tiny/btc, and kept eventually withdrawing it all for governance.
If this proposal passes another idea I had was trying to rally govs to agree to some long-term voting support and liquidity provisions to some specific LPs that will help grow Tinyman and Algorand overall. Specificity some of us agreeing to support xyz pairing with say at least 10% of our voting power a month (for me that would be fasset pairings, strengthening multi-defi systems, tinyman, folks finance, meldgold), agreeing to boost farms of say tiny/usdc, falgo/fusdc, fsilver/fusdc, fgold/fusdc, falgo/fsilver, falgo/fgold and if we could work out a way to make these APR’s competitive, we hopefully drive more attention to them.
You’d still use the majority of your voting power for whatever you wanted, you’d just use a small bit coordinating with other govs to boost important ecosystem pairings for say two months, or whatever, or go in rotation with others along a series of assets with some other govs. Decentralized doesn’t mean alone after all. For me that’s the big appeal of defi. Lots of people coming together of different backgrounds to build something greater than they can do individually.
Imo “risky” assets that skeptics could see as “rug pulls” (and I do think this is overused a bit, sometimes projects with good intentions do just fail) could “buy” some goodwill by committing to support under-utilized farms via a portion of their voting power. I think this could and should be done in a very public way to avoid accusations of “backroom dealing” and organizing on the forums could be a very good way to do it. And like, we have a decent amount of voting power among us govs combined. Even smaller accounts deciding to group their voting power together can create some big, attractive, farms.
I made a post about this here (before I was told we had a discord the other day) asking about what the “groups” option on the forums was in part to try and do something like that, as well as seeing if we could utilize various talents of our decentralized governance to grow Tinyman. To plan out campaigns, to think up interesting ways to advertise and create buzz.
