Tinyman's IP (Intellectual Property) Strategy Development

Unlike many other projects, Tinyman has its familiar yellow character. How about expanding this IP?

We can explore various collaborations featuring the character, such as animated videos and merchandise sales.

This idea is inspired by the example of Pudgy Penguins.

I love the idea, there’s also the tinyman comics which could be dusted off

Good call. I’d be up for some basic merch (beanies or cap, socks) - low key but cool.

I really liked this idea! Expanding our IP and featuring our familiar yellow character in various collaborations, like animated videos and merchandise sales, could be a fantastic community-driven initiative. It’s great to see such creative suggestions from our community, and we’re excited to see more ideas like this. :raised_hands:

Great idea! The TINYMAN character could also be used for explanatory videos about DeFi and crypto in general.

Fully support this Idea!

How can we fulfill this…

One of the merchandise ideas we can fulfill if needed - We can create the tinyman yellow character in an air freshener form which you can hang in your car… Like those Christmas tree car air freshener… you know what I am talking about right?

Tinyman can have it’s very own signature scent/smell!

I think this proposal has had the most favorable response, and we would like to tailor the content to fit the format.

I guess I would like to ask Tiny Man to create rules regarding copyright and various use cases that would be available or not available.

I’ll try to make them first.

Title: [Tinyman’s IP (Intellectual Property) Establish the scope of use of rights]

Abstract: To establish the scope of use of the Tinyman character in terms of all rights, and to provide details and clarification on the WEB site so that users can use the character with ease.

Objective: Recognition of the character leads to recognition of Tinyman as a DEX, and this is a promotional activity using the IP for the purpose of increasing users and TVL.

Background: With the development of WEB3, both many CEXs and DEXs will become more sophisticated, and the difference in APR is expected to gradually shrink. Therefore, we proposed this project because we felt the need to work not only on the numbers, but also to make people become attached to the Tinyman project through the characters, and to make the project a project that will be loved and used for a long time.

Details: Tinyman staff will be asked to create a set of rules and regulations regarding the character, including legal aspects. We will describe them on the website immediately after completion and post them on X and Medium.

In particular, to what extent can we use the Tinyman characters as fans to create and sell NFTs? It is also important that the terms and conditions are established in anticipation of cases that may arise after the scope of use of the character is defined. Include prohibited items.

Some people will consider creating goods using the characters. Rather, they should be created with a bang and encouraged to promote awareness as quickly as possible. Because someday, other major DEXs from other chains may suddenly enter the Algorand.

The first step in increasing the number of users and TVLs is to make Tinyman known. Even if there is a juicy APY, if it is not known, it will not start. The reason why TV and Internet ads are thriving is because they are so effective.

It only starts when people know about it, visit the website, and use it.
So, the implementation timeline should be as early as possible.

Challenges and Considerations: We have to consider the legal aspects of this project, and it will take time. We want to move as quickly as possible based on other cases.

Benefits: The scope of use of the character is defined, so users can use it with peace of mind. Speed is the key.

Indicator of success: Show the image to a child on the street and answer, “Tinyman!”, it is a success.

Budget and funding: I have no idea, so I’ll leave it up to Tinyman staff. I want this to be budgeted well, as I believe this will be a matter of survival in the future. This may be a race against time.

This sounds awesome. Other ideas for Tinyman IP: NFT Wallpapers for PeraWallet, tangible stickers and enamel pins, patches, mugs, etc.

Perhaps stickers that fit ledgers, laptops, and just average stickers. People love stickers, I love stickers. But merch with TM on it sounds great.

Stickers that fit ledgers or the top branded cold storage wallets is a great idea.

I think we have generally agreed with the proposal, so I would like to submit it to the Governance Proposal thread for a full-fledged community vote.

The proposal needs 50 votes and at least 50% approval to pass.

The main problem is that I do not have the 450,000 Tiny Power needed to submit my proposal.
What should I do?

Thanks for spearheading this. Can we pool users’ TINY power to reach an aggregate of 450,000, or is that limited to one user? If the latter, might be worth bringing up with Tinyman to amend for grouped power. After all, there were 56 signatures on the US Declaration of Independence, not just one. In the meantime, may be worth posting about this proposal on reddit threads like r/tinyman, r/algorand, and r/algorandofficial, as well as tagging influential users like /u/GhostofMcafee

It seems you’re proposing a kind of delegate system as an extension of governance. Not sure if Tiny dev has plans for that yet or just waiting on something like this to bring it up

Love this idea. Also, if the image/character representation, and the monetary opportunities from it all are going to be taken seriously from an institutional-sized outside-investor perspective as well (which would be ideal), we need to be able to present it as an established brand (merch and keyrings and such being driven from that basis primarily). Brands sell big. Especially early IPs in a web3 space.

Since branding relies heavily on design-based things like style guides, etc., maybe the front-end devs have some input there? We can literally start with the hex color for the iconic yellow and document it out from there

With a style guide, the brand can expand in basically all things marketing from that point on. You get that together and the merch will flow.

Edit: punctuation.

First thing that came to mind was a series of Tinyman figurines. Imagine something with the aesthetic of something like Smiskis (popular Japanese figs), but Tinyman? If each box also came with claimable NFT (or multimint), that would be a cool integration.
